SPOKANE, Wash.—Fans of No. 5 Gonzaga have been asked to stop yelling “Brokeback Mountain” at opposing players.
The reference to the recent movie about homosexual cowboys was chanted by some fans during Monday’s game against Saint Mary’s, and is apparently intended to suggest an opposing player is gay.
Ryan “Brokeback Whiner” Olson, the president of Helping Educate Regarding Orientation, a gay-straight alliance on campus, said the chants are just the latest incident that shows GU is struggling to make gays and lesbians welcome on campus.
Heh. I think it’s pretty damn funny.

The film is due for release in Europe soon.

There are no foriegn cultures. Cultures build things like the pyramids and Notre Dame, and promptly die. The savages squating among the masonry left behind by the dead cultures of their civilized ancestors point at it and say “look at all this culture, we’ve got so much culture here”. History isn’t culture. Ruins are not culture. Innovation and exploration are culture, and America is the last place left on the face of the earth that is currently doing that. We are the only people in the world who have a culture.

Again, the usual rightwing suspects will defend anything this administration does.
This story is really fishy, even by the usual AWOL George standards.
You have Cheney nearly killing a man and yet the story doesn’t get released for over a day? The police aren’t informed as is the law in all cases of shootings.
When the story comes out-it is spun by GOP quislings to imply the victim was somehow to blame.
The sherrif WAS informed. The “victim” was careless and more to blame in reality, and as far as we know the wounds are superficial.
