even Drudge replaced Jacko with this
Although Al Gore had been scheduled to appear in the Capitol with Nancy Pelosi today [Thurs 6/25] to stump for House passage of the climate change bill, Pelosi called Gore last night to cancel.
...Pelosi explained, “It’s a question of what was energy efficient for the Vice President. ...we had a great narrowing of the undecideds yesterday.”
It couldn’t be cuz thy discovered ol’ FatAl is talkin’ through his hat? Could it?? And which way were those “undecideds” falling?
Keep CALLING!
The collapse of the “consensus” has been driven by reality. The inconvenient truth is that the earth’s temperatures have flat-lined since 2001, despite growing concentrations of C02. Peer-reviewed research has debunked doomsday scenarios about the polar ice caps, hurricanes, malaria, extinctions, rising oceans. A global financial crisis has politicians taking a harder look at the science that would require them to hamstring their economies to rein in carbon.
...Republicans in the U.S. have, in recent years, turned ever more to the cost arguments against climate legislation. That’s made sense in light of the economic crisis. If Speaker Nancy Pelosi fails to push through her bill, it will be because rural and Blue Dog Democrats fret about the economic ramifications. Yet if the rest of the world is any indication, now might be the time for U.S. politicians to re-engage on the science.
Ya mean, like, real “science?” Like with facts ‘n’ stuff?
Wow. Whadda concept.
RedState has an updating list of fence-sitters who NEED CALLS.
“Under my plan of a cap and trade system, electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket.”
— Barack Obama, January 17, 2008, San Francisco Chronicle

CBO and the Joint Committee on Taxation (JCT) estimate that over the 2010-2019 period enacting this legislation would:
--Increase federal revenues by about $846 billion; and
--Increase direct spending by about $821 billion.
