Someone remind me . . .
Why is it we allow the gubbmint to:
1] tell US what time it is and
B] jerk us around by changing it twice a year for no apparent reason?

Every time I just hear the word “empower” it immediately raises my hackles, and I’m not even sure exactly where my hackles are… it just raises them.
It goes along with “social”, “justice”, “progress”, “truth to power”, “reaching out to the community”, and any number of other bullshit weasel words and phrases. I can’t take it anymore.
It embiggens my cromulence.
in 'todaze Lympian quote o the ding dong day'.Col Jerry, I wasn’t clear they were really sure exactly where the sniper was located. There was a lot of spray and pray going on there. If they did know, the little 60 mm would be just the ticket, being a lot more accurate than the RPG and as you said, needing just a ‘peep’ sight instead of full exposure to put it on target.
in 'today's Kevlar™ ad and USMC™ recruiting video'.I was borned and raised in a women’s prison that I had to help my black lesbian mama to build, and I didn’t turn-out so bad.
Whaaat?
in 'what's black and white and loved all over'.Yea, Mr. massive bulk was in town last week for some comedy thing he was promoting in Traverse City, I saw him in the road and had to swerve to miss him. Good news is I saved my vehicle from damage.
Bad news is I ran out of gas on my detour around his fat-ass.
Eric Massa give it two snaps up!
in 'Ok, KisP Brain Trust'.Thanks. I won’t be eating for the rest of the day.
in 'close your eyes'.He’s going to be Biden’s Whoopee Cushion.
in 'close your eyes'.I was in a few foster homes. For the longest time, I believed they found me under a cabbage leaf ;)
in 'what's black and white and loved all over'.That’s assault and I’m allowed to defend myself. So as Melissa said, BANG! BANG! to the thoracic.
in 'close your eyes'.Interesting read Claire.
Sounds like this was the moment when young Barry realized it was his destiny to become a democratic congressman.
*BANG*
in 'close your eyes'.You have a point there, Claire.
Perhaps I shall join you and entertain myself ;)
It’s a floor wax dessert!
Hell yeah, Mech—bring it on!
*ties napkin around neck*
Yanno, Melissa—Ipm entertaining the hell outta myself with this stuff.
so there’s that…
“what would it take to persuade you?”
easy. hard evidence.
*tosses another log on fire*
“Bill’s never been able to find mine either!”

Sounds like Army eggs to me.

I grew up in the Bronx in the ‘50s and the ‘60s. It wasn’t pretty. “White flight” is a fairly accurate term. But, if the whites flew, who then was putting large swaths of the area to the torch?
in 'i believe i can flyyyyyyyyy'.Timely idea for Buy A Gun Day, which is coming soon on April 15.
in 'tonight's audience participation'.You yokels misunderestimate carbon offsets. AlGore pays African villages to live in mud huts without electricity to offset his carbon assprint.
Unfortunately, he may soon have to start buying peasants from another continent to make up for the numbers dying from malaria due to the DDT ban.
in 'today's KisPtips'.I have no cites (well, I do, but they are on a backup drive not currently available), but when first interviewed - by newsies, not Israelis, and before being told what to say the next day after going back to movement headquarters - her fellow demonstrators pretty much called it a stupid and preventable accident.
They were finishing lunch, some talking after having already finished, after which they were going to go out and stand in front of the bulldozer. She, contrary to the rules they all knew and had pledged to follow, went out alone. Then, also against their own rules, she changed from a standing position to a kneeling position - which is when the dozer operator, who was looking at a couple of the protestors standing in the door of the house and [unintelligibly: try it at a construction site] yelling, lost track of her and assumed she had moved off. When she realised the operator was again moving forward and could not see her, she tried to move to one side - but one foot caught in loose dirt/rubble, she fell prone…
This was homicide only in the sense that a human died, and considering the flouting of safety rules she was well aware of, closer to that subset known as suicide.
