Marine in ‘Fahrenheit 9/11’ Dies in Iraq
A Marine from Michigan and one-time recruiter who appeared in Michael Moore’s acclaimed documentary “Fahrenheit 9/11” has died in a roadside bombing in Iraq.
Although Staff Sergeant Raymond Plouhar willingly appeared in a segment of the 2004 film, his father said yesterday that his son didn’t realize that it was for a movie critical of the war.
The senior Plouhar says that all his 30-year-old son ever wanted to do was serve his country.
Plouhar leaves behind a wife and two children, ages five and nine, who live in Arizona.
Family members say he was just 38 days from returning from his latest tour of Iraq.
