The plot thickens

and the peasants are revolting [Boy!  are they...]

...a United Arab Emirates-based foundation headed by Sheikh Mohammed Al-Maktoum, ...the ruler of Dubai..., put up almost $1 million for the property, and recently pledged $50 million more to help CAIR ["the Moslem NAACP"] build larger headquarters, replenish its legal war chest and fund a nationwide pro-Islam propaganda campaign.

We don’t got to show you no steenkin’ peasants members!

Really looking forward to that “ationwide pro-Islam propaganda campaign.” Think we’ll recognize it when it debuts?  [or was the flying imams kerfluffle the opening number?]

I said ‘no, no, no’

I won’t go, go, go

Ahmed Rehab executive director of the Chicago office of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, said the drivers are using a “strict and rigid” interpretation of Islamic law. ..."He who carries alcohol, he who drinks and he who sells it are the same thing” ..."They believe they have been forced into something against their faith, something against their religion.”

...Minneapolis airports in May began enforcing a new policy allowing it to revoke the licenses of drivers who refuse to ferry passengers carrying alcohol ..."When I was growing up in East Africa in a Muslim community, I heard of alcohol but I never (saw) what it looked like until I came to the United States”

Ok—so how do they know if someone is carrying booze?  It’s not like folks are wandering around the airport with glasses decorated with tiny umbrellas, hailing cabs with a fifth of scotch clutched in their fist…

image

Eltayeb Osman, a Muslim cabbie from Sudan, has negotiated his own rules for driving passengers who carry alcohol. He’ll do it, but with certain restrictions.

“Put it in the trunk, put it in your hand, whatever,” Osman said. “I don’t need to touch it myself.”

Are they?

And the Beat Goes On

The Man wants you to conform, man.

[Berzerkeley’s] Public Commons for Everyone Initiative [bans] smoking near buildings in commercial areas, lying on the sidewalk, public urination and defecation, drinking in public, possessing a shopping cart and shouting in public.

wow.  making it illegal to poop onna street.  radical, man.

reactions vary:

...“attacking the homeless” “...they’re sticking it to the poor people...” “This new law is going to be bad for the poor man.” “...Sometimes people wander in and start screaming and bothering customers.” “...I’m very egalitarian...I’m no better than anyone else. That said...Most of the people standing out here would stab their own sister or brother in the back to support their habit.” ...people sitting or lying on the sidewalks is the “Berkeley way.”

It provides $2 million a year—from higher parking meter fees—for hiring mental health workers, removing graffiti, installing signs directing people to public restrooms and possibly hiring additional police.

In case you’ve never been to the People’s Republic of Berzerekeley, it is next to impossible to find a usable bathroom—even as a paying customer of a restaurant or store.  No one will have—or admit to having—one who isn’t forced to and those who are legally required gave up long ago.

If you’re going to the People’s Republic of Berzerekeley
Go before ya go.

if popcorn is outlawed, only the outlaws will have popcorn

first they came for your popcorn

At Seattle City Hall there are rules.

No weapons, no animals, no loitering, no alcohol, no lying down, no smoking, no music, no fighting, no trespassing.

Could the next thing be no microwave popcorn?

“It can be a significant problem in the future,” says Seattle Facilities Director Pedro Vasquez.

The City Facilities Department has just issued a memo to all City employees.
Video

SUBJECT: Burnt microwave popcorn.

The Justice Center has been evacuated eight times in three years, forcing the evacuation of more than 400 people.  If the problem continues, it will result in a ban of all microwave popcorn.

How has it happened so many times?

“I really don’t know, I can’t answer that question for you,” says Yolande Williams, City Court Administrator.

The biggest offenders are at the Justice Center, but overheated popcorn has also forced evacuations at the Municipal Tower.

Popcorn is not the easiest thing to cook.  Who knows if it’s really two, two-and-a-half or three minutes?  An unsupervised bag can destroy productivity for all your co-workers.

todaze religious extremism to the severed head award

Violent Muslim, Christian and Jewish extremists invoke the same rhetoric of “good” and “evil” and the best way to fight them is to tackle the problems that drive people to extremism, according to a report obtained by Reuters.

It said extremists from each of the three faiths often have tangible grievances—social, economic or political—but they invoke religion to recruit followers and to justify breaking the law, including killing civilians and members of their own faith.

The report was commissioned by security think tank EastWest Institute ahead of a conference on Thursday in New York titled “Towards a Common Response: New Thinking Against Violent Extremism and Radicalization.” The report will be updated and published after the conference.

The authors compared ideologies, recruitment tactics and responses to violent religious extremists in three places—Muslims in Britain, Jews in Israel and Christians in the United States.

“What is striking ... is the similarity of the worldview and the rationale for violence,” the report said.

It said that while Muslims were often perceived by the West as “the principal perpetrators of terrorist activity,” there are violent extremists of other faiths. Always focusing on Muslim extremists alienates mainstream Muslims, it said....................................

Happy Birthday, US Army!

On June 14, 1775, the Second Continental Congress authorized the enlistment of 10 companies of riflemen in Maryland, Pennsylvania and Virginia.

The next day, George Washington was appointed commander in chief of this “grand American army.”

And thus the U.S. Army was born.

Grand American army, indeed.

Pistol whipping this sob is too kind

Harry “19% Favorability Rating” Reid just crossed his political Rubicon.  And that dishrag Pelosi… Well, she ain’t got the cranial capacity to do much more than her nutroots handlers dictate.

Top US congressional Democrats bluntly told President George W. Bush Wednesday that his Iraq troop “surge” policy was a failure.

Senate Majority leader Harry Reid and House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi challenged the president over Iraq by sending him a letter, ahead of a White House meeting later on Wednesday.

“As many had forseen, the escalation has failed to produce the intended results,” the two leaders wrote.

“The increase in US forces has had little impact in curbing the violence or fostering political reconciliation.

“It has not enhanced America’s national security. The unsettling reality is that instances of violence against Iraqis remain high and attacks on US forces have increased.

“In fact, the last two months of the war were the deadliest to date for US troops.”

It’s failed?  Um, no.  Violence is down.  The tide is turning our way in the Anbar Province.  Heck, a good chunk of the troops that will comprise the “surge” are just now getting in the theater.

Casualties up?  Gee, that happens when you take the fight to the frakkin’ enemy instead of performing patrols and going back to FOBs.

But wait… The man with a lower favorability rating than a 20-year-old, drunken party slut of a celebretard ain’t done yet.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid called Marine Gen. Peter Pace, the outgoing chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, “incompetent” during an interview Tuesday with a group of liberal bloggers, a comment that was never reported.

Reid made similar disparaging remarks about Army Gen. David Petraeus, the top U.S. commander in Iraq, said several sources familiar with the interview.

Keep pandering to the seditious lunatic fringe, Harry.

Now that the Dems have gutted my IRA with the sub prime loan/bailout debacles, I’m pretty sure I’m going to convert everything to Roth and tangibles before the Bush tax cuts expire this year, and do my best to have no taxable income forever after.
Cash and carry, bill by barter, black market and underground economy here we come.

The Dems are smug now, but are in for some bitter medicine:
A ton of them will lose their jobs.
The new Repub majority will blacklist the newly unelected for government employment or lobbying jobs.
Dem corruption will be daylighted like they’ve never seen
When people find out doctors will not take Uhbamacare patients or retire and a huge doctor shortage arises, even more Dems will lose their jobs.
Vengeance may even take the form of cutting Congressional pensions and medical bennies for retirees.
And we haven’t even gotten to the 30+ state and private lawsuits such as the already prepared Landmark Legal Foundation’s, which is ready to go to court tomorrow.
Unemployment will go up.
Tax revenues will fall precipitously.
Somewhere, some day, some desparate, angry guy who has been ruined by the past few years of Dem criminality is going to assault one of those bastards back in the home district. I fear the Government reaction to that, but a part of me would love to see it.
