Saying “I don’t want him to go to jail,” a member of the jury that convicted I. Lewis “Scooter” Libby of perjury and obstruction of justice in the CIA leak case called Wednesday for President Bush to pardon Vice President Dick Cheney’s former chief of staff. [psssssssst. He has a name]
The woman, Ann Redington, said in an interview on MSNBC’s “Hardball” that she cried when the verdicts against Libby were read Tuesday. She said Libby seemed to be “a really nice guy.”“I would like him to get” a pardon from Bush, Redington said. “It kind of bothers me that there was this whole big crime being investigated and he got caught up in the investigation as opposed to in the actual crime that was supposedly committed.”
She’s obviously never heard of the Fully Informed Jury Association ........

Been having trouble all day I understand.

I’d start with mine but there’s just too many and is why I need your help.

If you haven’t heard the story, here’s the gist. Marine Cpl Matt Sanchez, recent winner of the Jeanne Kirkpatrick Academic Freedom Award at CPAC, was once a gay porn, erm, actor and escort. But apparently he isn’t anymore.
How conveeeenient!
The left is making this revelation a Jeff Gannon redux.
For good reason.
What they’re actually showing is that, once again, the left loves the sin but hates the sinner (if the sinner is a Republican). Because you won’t find many if any denunciations of what Sanchez did on its own merits; they’ll just slam him for “hypocrisy” for being a Republican with a past.
For good reason.
Do yourself a favor and read the whole thing, and the whole post. Sanchez would have done well to inform CPAC of his past and let them decide whether or not to honor him with the award…
Gee...yah think?
...but he didn’t and it’s not difficult to understand why. Who wants to bring up something like that, once a group of distinguished people have decided that you’re honorable?
Ummmm...lemme guess...someone who was...ohhhhhhhh...I dunno...HONORABLE???
Gawd forbid he’d allow them to give the award to someone else who was more deserving. I mean, it’s not like there are a lot of honorable Iraq War Veterans out there or anything.
For our friends on the left who will tar the entire conservative movement over the past of one man…
As if they’ve never tarred the entire conservative movement over the actions or opinions of a single person before.
But we must all try and remember to refrain from using hateful, ugly, potty-mouth words and go to church each ‘n every Sunday and they’ll stop attacking us.
Hey, it could happen!
...you’d do well to consider something that GayPatriotWest reminded me of — at the heart of the Christian story is a prostitute, Mary Magdalene.
I can see where you’re going with this, but thanks—I’ve already seen Pretty Woman.
At the heart of the New Testament is a book called Corinthians, in which Paul describes some of the early Christians thus:
Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,
Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.
And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.
Sounds like my kinda people, but I digress…
“…and such were some of you…” He’s talking to some of the first Christians. Those people had histories. But change is possible. Based on his actions at Columbia and in joining the Marines, I’d say that change has happened.
Well goody goody gumdrops for him.
Look, a lot people have “histories” but not everyone has a history of doing gay porn.
What he should have done was respectfully decline the award.
And the fact that he didn’t says a lot for his “honor”, in my opinion.
That’s not to excuse or defend anything, just to put it into perspective.
Oh no...we’re not going to defend him or anything like that. We’re just going to blame liberals and the MSM when they take this story and rub it (and rightly so I might add) in our collective faces.
I can’t wait to see who CPAC has on tap for next year.
As predicted…
Last night, hate-filled liberals on MSNBC attemped to smear Marine Corporal Matt Sanchez and conservatives who honored him at CPAC for his support of the military at Columbia University. They gleefully showed photos of Cpl. Sanchez at the event--including ones I took--in mockery after his gay porn past was outed by left-wing blogs. They cackled “Semper Fi.”
And no more cackling you guys!
Olympia residents won’t be charged in Tacoma protest, prosecutor says…
So what does Wally do?
Three Olympia residents arrested Monday at the Port of Tacoma won’t face charges stemming from a protest there, their lawyer said Tuesday, but one of them was arrested again during a Tacoma City Council meeting Tuesday.
Walter Cuddeford, 28, was arrested after he refused repeated requests to wrap up his remarks during the meeting’s public-comments forum, a Tacoma Police spokesman said. Cuddeford decried Monday’s arrest in his remarks before he ran over his allotted three minutes, said Rob McNair-Huff, city of Tacoma spokesman. He was asked twice to sum up his comments but refused, McNair-Huff said. After the third warning, police arrested him on charges of trespassing and disrupting a city council meeting, police spokesman Mark Fulghum said.
Jeffery Berryhill, 22, Caitlin Esworthy, 24, and Cuddeford, 28, were arrested by Tacoma police after they allegedly pushed their way through a line of officers who were ensuring the road was unobstructed for military cargo heading into the port.
They were released from jail Monday night after being booked on investigation of third-degree assault, a felony, and posting bail.
wait-there’s more.......
Hildes said the four arrested are considering filing a civil claim against Tacoma police for false arrest and use of excessive force.
Hildes represents four of the 17 people who await trial on a second-degree trespass charge stemming from a May 30 protest at the Port of Olympia over an earlier military shipment. The trial is scheduled to begin March 26 in Thurston County District Court. Berryhill and Cuddeford are among the co-defendants.
This is what losers get to do because they have no life and get away with dangerous anti-social behavior. Winners like us get to work hard, follow the rules and PAY FOR THIS CRAP.

Protesters, including Andrew Moll, second from left, of Tacoma, Wash., and Annamarie Murano, center, of Olympia, Wash., dance the “Hokey Pokey” in front of police dressed in riot gear standing guard at the gate of a Port of Tacoma staging area where Stryker and other military vehicles await shipment to the war in Iraq just after midnight Tuesday, March 6, 2007 in Tacoma, Wash.
...a reason to envy me my statehood…

The Washington State Patrol is cracking down on onramp motorists who cut onto the freeway early by crossing what’s called the gore point.
Think about it… You know assholes that drive like this are “Al Gores”.
Paul: Get the butter.
I call this one…

I just knew there was a reason why I dislike this guy so much. Of course, his constant smarminess towards The Duke’s films was probably a dead giveaway. And some of his film witticisms are, in my opinion, less than subtle. You can just tell he’s dying to blurt out BushHitlerMonkeyBoy.
Oh well....thank goodness Robert Osborne is there to reset the mood.

Saw a clip of this on Brit Hume’s Special Report last night.
Honestly, it doesn’t really bother me when Bush does this. I guess the reason being is my father tends to do the same thing when he gets nervous.
So personally, I find it rather endearing.

I tried to understand the choice by the defense to keep the trial going with only 11 jurors (I STILL don’t get that one) and I was going to take the high ground and just accept the Libby verdict as justice but then I heard this today on Rush:
.........the stomach-churning guilty verdict against Lewis Libby --- presented by a one-time writer for the Washington Post and Tim Russert neighbor who just happened to be the jury foreman...................
O.J. Simpson reportedly said he is “throwing his hat into the ring” regarding the paternity battle over Anna Nicole Smith’s baby, citing his “slow-moving sperm.”
Documentary filmmaker Norm Pardo — who filmed 70 hours of footage with Simpson from 2000 to 2005 — told the New York Post that Simpson said “he knew Anna Nicole pretty well, and he said he had slow-moving sperm, and he might be the father.”
Simpson and Smith starred together in “Naked Gun 33 1/3: The Final Insult.”
Simpson even joked that he hoped the baby wasn’t his as Fred Goldman — the father of Ron Goldman, whom Simpson was acquitted of murdering along with his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson — might try to take her.
“I hope they don’t do a DNA test on Anna Nicole’s baby. If they find out Dannielynn is mine, I don’t want Fred Goldman trying to seize her money — or the baby herself,” Pardo claims Simpson said.

Two Islamic militant websties have called on Muslims to kill the driver of a Georgia registered vehicle displaying an offensive bumper sticker. On February 28 the “Black Lion” blog, a website run by two American Muslim who support violent jihad, posted the license plate number of a Gwinnett County, Georgia motorist displaying a bumper sticker which read, “Kill em all, let Allah sort em out.” A thinly veiled threat encouraging Muslims to find the driver and kill him was also posted.............
All your generals are belong to us. OK - just one. But it’s intriguing, no?
Missing Iranian general Ali Reza Asghari, who disappeared during a visit to Turkey earlier this week, may be in Europe, an Arab newspaper reported on Wednesday.
According to the London-based daily A-Sharq al-Awsat, the former deputy defense minister of Iran was being held for questioning in northern Europe on his way to the US, where he was reportedly headed to seek asylum.
It appears to me that General Asghari might be doing this out of fear for his nation’s future under the Mini Mahdi.

Afghan soldiers caught a senior Taliban commander at a checkpoint who was wearing a burqa, while NATO forces on Wednesday fought Taliban militants in the second day of the alliance’s largest-ever offensive in Afghanistan.
Mullah Mahmood, who is accused of helping the Taliban detonate suicide bombs, was caught Tuesday in Kandahar province while wearing the all-encompassing Islamic veil worn here by women, NATO said.
Captain America has undertaken his last mission — at least for now. The venerable superhero is killed in the issue of his namesake comic that hit stands Wednesday, the Daily News reported.
On the new edition’s pages, a sniper shoots down the shield-wielding hero as he leaves a courthouse, according to the newspaper.
It ends a long run for the stars-and-stripes-wearing character, created in 1941 to incarnate patriotic feeling during World War II.
...as he leaves a courthouse........
RIP indeed.
A proposed constitutional amendment that would reaffirm English as the state’s official language took its first step toward the ballot box Tuesday, gaining unanimous approval of a House subcommittee.
English is already the official language of Georgia by statute. But Rep. Timothy Bearden (R-Villa Rica), sponsor of HR 413, said he wants to give voters a chance to cement it into the state constitution in 2008. Protecting English is critical now, he said, in light of the federal government’s inability to control the flow of illegal immigrants who aren’t assimilating into American society.
When this makes it through the GA legislature it will be approved handily by the voters of Georgia.
And in other news…

A flock of fiberglass chickens is coming to Marietta.
The birds will look like the city’s landmark - the Big Chicken - but won’t be quite as tall.
Organizers plan to put up to 35 sculptures around Marietta from June to November to raise money for charity.
Several cities have used public art displays to raise money: In Atlanta, for instance, painted cows once decorated the sidewalks.
The Marietta chickens will pay homage to a defining landmark - the big red-and-white chicken that towers above the KFC at U.S. 41 and Roswell Road.
The Big Chicken kicks butt. The beak opens and closes and the eye rolls around.
And then there’s justice!
Break into a home in GA and you get this...
One of two suspects in a Tuesday morning armed robbery in Hall County was shot and killed by a Flowery Branch police officer after the suspect shot at him during a foot chase off Interstate 985, Flowery Branch Police Chief Gerald Lanich said.
Lanich declined to name the officer who shot the suspect, but said the use of deadly force was “very much justified.”
He said two home invasion suspects were being chased in a wooded area off the interstate after a traffic stop by Hall County and Flowery Branch authorities when one turned and fired a shot at the officer.
“He returned fire, striking and killing the suspect,” Lanich said. The officer was not injured.
