He flew a desk until the Admiral reviewed his records as a pilot. Then, if cleared for flight status, went back to the squadron and requalified just like an FNG.

If not cleared, he continued to fly the desk ‘til he got out (resigns his commission).

Sondra - That is a MAJOR fuck up. The aircraft departs controlled flight when the pilot’s input causes the starboard wing tip to dip so far as to contact the round down prior to the trap.

Sorta like getting the yipes while putting.
