Waiting for a specialist at the NavHosp to collect some instructions for my wife’s diabetes paraphernalia a few days ago, I discovered the waiting room TV was tuned to MSNBC for some unholy, probably Qur’anic reason.  Problem with that is the channel and volume controls are maintained by staff, so since I couldn’t leave the area, I had to endure a parade of moonbat (Democrat) PotUS wannabes spewing their incoherent blather about the tragedy in Iraq and how Bush is scuttling the economy and the travesty of our undecipherable immigration laws and how the Republicans are stonewalling the “progressives’” attempts to produce meaningful legislation and on and on and on.

I automatically tuned out what I knew they would say and focused on the “candidates’” voices, mannerisms, stage presence, and other considerations, such as venue and potential legacy if elected.  I had to wait so long that the segment was replayed on the half hour, and during the encore I made some mental notes.

Ron Paul seemed really out there, as if trying to communicate from someplace beyond the solar system . . . lotta interspace static drowning him out . . . voice like somebody speaking from an alien vacuum.

Dennis Kucinich, not quite so far out as Ron Paul, maybe Ganymede, or Callisto or someplace . . . sounds funny . . . voice like somebody with a lungful of helium.

As Bill Richardson spoke, all I could think of was carbon monoxide, a guy who locked himself in his garage and hasn’t figured a way to get out.

A clip of Edwards brought a batch of distasteful images to my mind, but the one that stuck was a San Francisco bathhouse and a voice speaking through a mist of crème de menthe or Kahlua or some other sickly sweet liqueur.

Joe Biden clearly has been inhaling far too much methane and seems to speak from a yet unnamed impact crater on the dark side of the moon.

Barry Obama swooped down from Mt. Courvoisier on Venus speaking with the sweet, dulcet tones of Motown, trying to conjure up Diana Ross & the Supremes and make himself black enough to win.

A still shot of Cindy Sheehan conjured up Filthy McNasty’s rag bag on Mt. Trashmore in my mind’s eye, and the voice reminded of something you just don’t see every day – a female mule.

And Hillary, of course, the centerpiece of the segment, with a voice best suited to semaphore and a face that would work best in Morse code, addressing the audience from behind bars in a federal lockup.

Every word every Democrat politician ever says is opportunistic BS, even if they happen to be right.

Look…
We overthrew a country’s government.
We have an obligation to perform the duties of that government and to protect that country from vultures, both foreign and domestic, until they/we stand up a replacement government.

We.do.not.have.any.friggin’.choice.

Filthy lying ratbastard POS. They are scared of embracing the far left because they’ll lose the center so all they can do is move farther to the right to try and squeeze some votes from there. They know our way is right but it doesn’t matter, all they want is the power. I still think they are in the process of self-destructing along with most of the candidates on the right. They started too early and when the time is right Fred will step up to the plate. I want Newt for VP, unrealistic probably but aside from a few points he’s pretty much right on.

Trooper John Smith: Post-Curmudgeon

Of course, they forgot to define those missions and set forth an EXIT strategy, omissions for which they criticize President Bush! Take any one of those hypotheticals and you could be involved in what you see today.

These are the same bags of offal that, when WJ Clinton was in office, called for the removal of Saddam by whatever means was necessary and decried the huge stocks of WMDs, that everyone just absolutely knew Saddam had on hand and was at a threat to use!!!!

Disingenuous ass-bags… all of ‘em!!

IMHO, that statement ends all debate on Operation Iraqi Freedom. I’m taking an Al Bore stance on this… The debate is over.

Ron Paul? Am I missing some nuance here?

They are just lining themselves up to take credit for the success.

Ameridan—no, it’s just that they ran some spots on him.  They also showed Fred Thompson backtracking on a few things and McCain shooting himself in the foot on immigration.  I just thought the points they attributed to Paul were pretty damned far out for a Republican.  Por ejemplo:

Somebody asked him if he still believed NASA should be put to sleep & buried.  He waffled a little, but his basic answer was that it’s essentially a waste of time & taxpayer money.

He reiterated his insistence that we need to pull out of Iraq immediately and completely ... TODAY.  He said in essence that it’s time they learned to solve their own problems.  Didn’t want to discuss the possibility of Iran & Syria taking over.

When asked about FISA and the Patriot Act, he said the that NO form of US government has the right to conduct ANY form of domestic surveillance on US citizens except by properly obtained court order.

And when asked about our support for Israel, he said (my words, not his) we are already paying dire consequences for decades of alienating Arab states by propping up Israel to the tune of billions per year.

What amazed me most was that the clips took only like 2 minutes to say all that.  The McCain clip was maybe 20 seconds—a talking head introducing the point and then an edited version of McCain’s position on the guest worker program.

They tried to make Hillary’s performance on the gay & lesbian issue a study in tolerance & common sense, but it sounded to me like that article Claire linked to yesterday called “Pandermonium” from a total mealymouth.

I gotta go ‘long with what Doug, Mitch, and Trooper John say above on this’n.  I was just playin a li’l mind game of my own with the lyin bastards and ignorant morons.

One more thing on Paul—the clip they showed where he suggested putting NASA out of its misery was apparently pretty old—I’d say at least 10 years or so.

Eros Total,

I wondered what Ron Paul was doing at the dimocrap debate. Not that he doesn’t belong there, he does.

It’s way to early for me to watch these “debates”. Thank you for doing the job that other Americans won’t do.

They are showing clips of Republicans at their talking points debate? Not that I consider Ron Paul a Republican- but FRED!- don’t mess with FRED!

How dare they diss on the next President of the United States of America.

They keep repeating the mantra of “A new policy”.  Bullshit. They refuse to even acknowledge that we have one with the current “surge” and, more importantly, a counter-insurgency doctrine.

As you well know Airdale they ran on NOTHING in 2006 and were voted in by the right who were either pissed off or stayed at home.

To wit bought this uber-delusion from the KosKid himself.

Did anyone see this vintage Cheney, circa 1994 on Iraq?? !!!

More and more, I’m thinking we ought to bring the troops home.

So we can clean out the socialist scum infesting our great Nation.

Once the Nation is again secure, we can sally forth to kick ass.

Take down support levels juuuust far enuff that the Iraqis will be dependent on US forfreakin’ever.  Good Socialists Progreeeeesives, all.  Mebbe next we can include the Afghanis in our shiny-new socialized nationalized limited-access health care system.

[ET - if’n I close my eyes and listen to the SheHam—which is hard cuz I’m usually rolling my eyes when I hear the SheHam—I hear more of a hi-skool sophomore guurl.  From the non-ac-track.]

Beautifully said, Doug.

The dems have no clue.  It should be obvious to everybody, but (unfortunately) the MSM is so in bed with them that even their most asinine statements are given a veneer of “statesmanship”.  Take, for example, Obama’s plan to blow up Pakistan.: the MSM almost unanimously labeled this “a muscular speech on foreign policy”.

It must be nice to have dozens of talking heads ready, willing and able to make you look brilliant when you’re actually kind of a doofus.
