That reminds me of just how infatuated Mrs. “S” is with the paint shaker down at Kelly Moore.

Just a wild assed guess...............................

Looks like some depraved shit to me. Dont get locked up in there and make me have to come and get ya.
Next because I dont know where else tobring it up! Col Jerry I just finished reading my 50th story on the Avro Arrow which I know you heard of. It amazes me that the Canadians could have been leading the world in fighter plane Technology not to mention the others fields that would have branched off from that. But to simply cut those knock out planes up into scrap it just stuns me that they were that stupid. Then there best engineers moved here and we benifited from there ability. It seems that Canada still has no vision. Talk about stuck on stupid.

Also I would like to have an idea about what the Arrow’s top end speed would have been powered by two side by side PW Irquois engines side by side. It would have to have riviled the SR 71 Black Bird but we will never know.

Jack,

Long & complicated story on why cancelled.  This a/c was conceptually way ahead of its time as a platform, but radar/weapons were still analog both here and Canada.  I recall it went Mach 2 and probably could go faster but got canxed before top end was known.

Primary mission was killer of supersonic Russian bombers but Canadian wimps opted instead for POS Bomarc surface to air missile, so inaccurate it had to have a nuke warhead to stop bombers; go figure..........

At that time NORAD was secretly using USAF subsonic, straight wing w tip tanks, 2 crew Scorpian (think old T-33). Except the tip tanks contained unguided nuke tipped rockets to smoke a huge chunk of sky getting the ruskie bombers.  Scorpian crews trained for a diving split-S maneuvar after firing to escape pressure wave, but most knew they wouldn`t make it.........

Fun times back in the “duck and cover” days................
