Tyranny seems to always need to reduce the population.  They’ll let the people starve and feel good about it.

Sorry to say, we should stop wringing our hands.  The government is savage and we can’t help the people with it in control.

It does not make sense. 

However, given the way this military junta rules the country, why should a reasonable and compassionate response make sense.
