I think it is astounding and unprecedented move--Richardson was running for president while neglecting the needs of New Mexico (not that we weren’t better off with him away but he wasn’t doing the job he was elected to do). I am not familiar with the particulars of Alaskan State government, but there are limits on what can be accomplished in the waning days of the term. She doesn’t sound like someone who is accostomed to sitting on her laurels and I believe she has a plan, regardless of whether the press and party like it. What she intends to do with this time will become apparent soon enough.
She could stay home with the kids and write articles on policy to help the Tea Party Movement gel, or she could be studying to fill the gaps in her experience in preparation for another national race. She already has experience in front of a camera and microphone, so who knows if she might not make her own show on any network she chooses?
I didn’t like it at first, but she is certainly no slouch and certainly not one to quit just because things get tough, rather, she eats it up!
I expect something fascinating and exciting out of the next chapter of her story.
