Q: “Whaddya know, Joe?”
Joe sez: everyone guessed wrong” on the impact of the economic stimulus
rly? rly?!?
among the highlights to the opposition to the [stimulus] bill, we had 200 economists taking out an ad in the New York Times saying it wouldn’t work, all GOP representatives voting against the bill, and all but 3 GOP senators voting against the bill.

Thus far in 2009, 40% of Americans interviewed in national Gallup Poll surveys describe their political views as conservative, 35% as moderate, and 21% as liberal. This represents a slight increase for conservatism in the U.S. since 2008, returning it to a level last seen in 2004. The 21% calling themselves liberal is in line with findings throughout this decade, but is up from the 1990s.
This evening, Jennifer Lynch, the chief commissar of the Canadian Human Rights Commission, tried to have CTV Newsnet kick me off their interview program Power Play, hosted by Tom Clark.
To their great credit, CTV refused to be bullied—and it was Lynch who wound up off the show.
You can watch the episode here.
What an embarrassment Lynch and her CHRC have become to this government—and to all Canadians.
Here’s the story—it’s pretty simple. Lynch and I were both invited on Clark’s show to talk about the CHRC’s memo issued to Parliament this week. The CHRC is demanding that they be allowed to continue their censorship, and in fact arguing that Canada’s police should be more active in laying censorship charges, too. I wrote about the substance of it yesterday.
Lynch’s spin is that she wants to “start a debate” about censorship—how Orwellian is that? Well, CTV was happy to provide a forum for such a debate. But CTV made the honest mistake of thinking Lynch actually meant it. They didn’t realize that the CHRC’s idea of a debate is Lynch lecturing, and Canadians listening obediently.
When Lynch heard it would be me against whom she would have to debate, she tried to veto my appearance.
She tried to censor me............

We went to the MMA fights last night and *I* feel like I got MY ass kicked....
A couple of cans of soda, a Rock Star energy drink and a candy bar at the fights (we got seats ringside at the judges table OH YEA!!!!!!!!! *) then some buffalo wings and a ginger ale at the after fights party and I have been hung over all day......
We got in a little after the time when I used to start getting ready to go out.
Sigh........
WTH is wrong with you?!?

“I think Dick Cheney’s judgment about how to secure America is faulty,” Biden said. “I think our judgment is correct.”

Biden tells “Meet the Press” that “everyone guessed wrong” on the impact of the stimulus…
If they can justify doing this to innocent babies for the sake of convenience, imagine what they might do to “racists,” homophobes, global warming deniers, and other undesirables once they have the leverage.
Not sure why this beminded me but.........
......the Lympians have escalated their fabricated psychotic clusterfuck assaults and if things get a little weirder around here that’s why.
I’m not kidding.......it’s beyond deranged.
I don’t know how it could get any worse but then again, I’ve said that before.........

FBI director Robert Mueller says the government’s stimulus package, including the Troubled Asset Relief Program, has “the potential to be the next wave” of cases the agency investigates.
“These funds are inherently vulnerable to bribery, fraud, conflicts of interest, and collusion,”
Never fear—Sheriff Joe is in charge!
“We know some of this money is going to be wasted,” Biden said

a disturbance in the egosphere
From eht dept. of ya really oughta read the damthing before ya “author” / co-sponsor / vote on it:
Inspectors General are part of every federal department. They are given the responsibility of independently investigating allegations of waste, fraud, and corruption in the government, without fear of interference by political appointees or the White House. Last year Congress passed the Inspectors General Reform Act, which added new protections for IGs, including a measure requiring the president to give Congress 30 days prior notice before dismissing an IG. The president must also give Congress an explanation of why the action is needed. Then-Sen. Barack Obama was one of the co-sponsors of the Act.
So what? This:
...on Wednesday night the AmeriCorps inspector general, Gerald Walpin, received a call from the White House counsel’s office telling him that he had one hour to either resign or be fired. The White House did not cite a reason.
[RTWT - includes Walpin’s email response to the fone call]
This might be a reason:
The firing apparently stems from Walpin’s investigation of a non-profit group, St. HOPE Academy, run by Kevin Johnson, the former NBA star who is now mayor of Sacramento, California (and a big Obama supporter). “[Walpin] found that Johnson, a former all-star point guard for the Phoenix Suns, had used AmeriCorps grants to pay volunteers to engage in school-board political activities, run personal errands for Johnson and even wash his car,” the AP reports. In April, the U.S. attorney declined to file any criminal charges in the matter and criticized Walpin’s investigation. But at the same time Johnson and St. HOPE agreed to repay about half of the $850,000 it had received from AmeriCorps.
Or might this be a reason?
First Lady Michelle Obama’s chief of staff, Jackie Norris, is being sent to the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) in what is both a White House shake-up and an indication of the first lady’s sway over the corporation that oversees AmeriCorps, Serve and Learn and the Senior Corps.

Tami Farrell, the newly crowned beauty queen who is replacing the ousted Carrie Prejean as Miss California, apparently holds the same view as her predecessor, Carrie Prejean, and President Obama that marriage should be between a man and a woman.
Fox News host Neil Cavuto asked Farrell, who is Christian, on his show today:
“[Prejean] went out and said that a marriage is between a man and a woman. Do you share that view?”
Farrell responded in the affirmative with a simple, “Uh huh.”
*bwahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!*
