...........because the legislature established absentee voting as an optional method of voting, voters choosing to use that method are required to comply with the statutory provisions.......................because strict compliance with the statutory requirements for absentee voting is, and always has been required, there is no basis on which voters could have reasonably believed that anything less than strict compliance would suffice................

Jacko Round-up!

Johnny Depp has ruled himself out of playing Michael Jackson Johnny Depp has ruled himself out of playing Michael Jackson if a biopic of the late star was ever given the green light.

The man behind the world’s biggest online Michael Jackson fan club has said heartbroken followers of the star have committed suicide be..., a friend of the singer, has recorded a YouTube film on the site urging fans not to “self destruct”.  [and then calls them “fools."]

Michael Jackson’s body could be displayed in a glass coffin.

In his final will, Jackson divides his estate among his mother, three children and one or more charities - but there is no mention of his father Joe. [Hence the circling buzzards Jesse and Al]

Al Malnik - a restaurateur with alleged Mafia links - insists he is the biological parent of seven-year-old Prince ”Blanket” Michael II and has pledged to help raise the boy… speculation he is also the father of the older children.

...the Los Angeles County coroner:  “The report that is being published did not come from this office. I don’t know where the information came from, or who that information came from. It is not accurate. Some of it is totally false.”
[whaa?  no wig?]

Michael Jackson’s ex-wife has confessed the late star is not the biological father of their two children [she was also not the bio-mother]

Michael Jackson never adopted his three children

[PariZ Hilton is still a dickless wonder gibbering klown sideshow freak]

Now that you’re all ready to *spank* me, it seems like a good time to suggest ya get those JackoJokes outta your system.

Iraq National Sovereignty Day

MOSUL, IRAQ - The commanding general in charge of US forces in the north says American combat troops pulling out of Iraq’s most volatile cities are being shifted to areas encircling the cities to try to stop what has proved to be a resilient Al Qaeda in Iraq and other insurgent groups.

And there goes that “War for Oil” meme…

Oil companies from China, the world’s second-largest and fastest-growing consumer of oil, bid aggressively on Tuesday as Iraq began auctioning licenses in six large oil fields.

...A partnership of BP and the China National Petroleum Corporation, or C.N.P.C., won the first contract awarded, in the latest indication of Chinese interest in Iraq, a country that has until recently seemed to be firmly in the American sphere of influence for natural resources.

...as I watched the deniers make their arguments, I couldn’t help thinking that I was watching a form of treason — treason against the planet.

When we re-form back around the actual US Constitution, can we appoint a special Czar for Teh Stoopud?

I’m sure it’ll work out better when Commie Connie Carol Browner gets around to reading the damthing

[Including but not limited to:] 397 new federal regulations (which require traditional federal agency rulemakings [and the corresponding bureaucracy]) ...1060 new mandates [and that corresponding bureaucracy]) ...a system that rewards polluters with massive giveaways and can be gamed by Wall Street ... includes an important new program to preserve the health of our watersheds and wildlife sanctuaries, and provides initial funding.  [read:  “land grab” & “water grab"]

And don’t forget that nice sparkly-new, ginormous empathetic bureaucracy that will tell you how ya hafta re-build your house before you’re allowed to sell it.  That‘ll help the plunging real estate market.

NBC, good’n bought

General Electric, the world’s largest industrial company [owner of NBC], has quietly become the biggest beneficiary of one of the government’s key rescue programs for banks.

At the same time, GE has avoided many of the restrictions facing other financial giants getting help from the government.

The company did not initially qualify for the program, under which the government sought to unfreeze credit markets by guaranteeing debt sold by banking firms. But regulators soon loosened the eligibility requirements, in part because of behind-the-scenes appeals from GE....

Stated Goal -vs- Actual Goal

promoting energy independence bullshiite calumniation

Under the Waxman-Markey climate bill ... refiners would have to buy allowances for carbon dioxide spewed from their plants and from vehicles when motorists burn their fuel. Imports would need permits only for the latter, which ConocoPhillips Chief Executive Officer Jim Mulva said would create a competitive imbalance.

“It will lead to the opportunity for foreign sources to bring in transportation fuels at a lower cost, which will have an adverse impact to our industry, potential shutdown of refineries and investment and, ultimately, employment,” [said Mulva]…

“There’s no question there are some marginal refiners that probably will not survive,” said Exxon Mobil’s Tillerson…

...said Geoffrey Styles, founder of GSW Strategy Group LLC in Vienna, Virginia. “We will end up with less domestic product on the market and a greater reliance on imports, all of which means higher, more volatile prices.” ... Carbon permits would add 77 cents a gallon to the price of gasoline…

The same amount of gasoline that would have $1 in carbon costs imposed if it were domestic would have 10 cents less added if it were imported, ...

The equivalent of one in six U.S. refineries probably would close by 2020 as the cost of carbon allowances erases profits, according to the American Petroleum Institute

Just for the gas, the cost would be “an additional $178 billion annually, or about $560 for each man, woman and child in the U.S.”

So, lessee… What kinds of manufacturing/industry uses fuel?  All of ‘em. Check.  Service industries?  All of ‘em. Check.  Financials?  All of ‘em. Check.  Consumer discretionary/necessities?  All of ‘em. Check.  Communications?  Tech?  Materials?  All of ‘em. Check.

So what is this?  A ginormous tax which will depress the economy, give advantages to off-shore sellers of everything, and make US more reliant on foreign oil.  Which is just the opposite of what they promised that this pile of shiite was for.

So what is the actual goal?

Carbon prices will soar as U.S. refiners compete with each other and other industrial companies for a limited number of allowances ... permit prices may top $100 a ton.

Yep.  A new derivatives market for market playahs to ....er, play in.

Because the last derivatives market worked so well…

Just in case you were wondering what is going on around the ol’ Fetid Lake of Doom today, its another Tea Party. More information here.

Looks like they’re also going to come back to the Capitol on July 4 too.

If you’re in the mood for a counter protest, someone is trying to get one together (via email):

I was going through Capitol Lake with a friend at noon and was shocked to see a giant hate fest happening at the park with music, offensive signs and anti-immigrant and anti-gay marriage booths. I didn’t get more then that out of it, because I had to run away from all that hate…

See there is this 14th Amendment which adds to the Federal governments’s constitutional right to lay and collect taxes. Anti tax extremists are in fact radicals determined to over turn the constitution. It is not surprising this movement attracts racist Nativists who fear and loath Mexicans and other brown skinned Central Americans.

Only the ideologically blinkered would not see the racist anti-government hatred tea partiers unabashedly spew whenever a critical mass of these traitors gather. It is hate: Hate, fear, and longing for the unattainable unadulterated privileged of the ruling class. In the end it is self hatred that fuels the irrational passion of Tea Partiers. It is Hate, an ugly hate ultimately directed at their own friends and family. And that’s sad.

no communion for YOU

For the past five months, White House aides and friends of the Obamas have been quietly visiting local churches and vetting the sermons of prospective first ministers in a search for a new - and uncontroversial - church home. Obama has even sampled a few himself, attending services at 19th Street Baptist on the weekend before his inauguration and celebrating Easter at St. John’s Episcopal Church.

Now, in an unexpected move, Obama has told White House aides that instead of joining a congregation in Washington, D.C., he will follow in George W. Bush’s footsteps and make his primary place of worship Evergreen Chapel, the nondenominational church at Camp David. (See pictures of Barack Obama’s family tree.)

A number of factors drove the decision - financial, political, personal - but chief among them was the desire to worship without being on display. Obama was reportedly taken aback by the circus stirred up by his visit to 19th Street Baptist in January. Lines started forming three hours before the morning service, and many longtime members were literally left out in the cold as the church filled with outsiders eager to see the new President. Even at St. John’s, which is so accustomed to presidential visitors that it is known as the “Church of the Presidents,” worshippers couldn’t help themselves from snapping photos of Obama on their camera phones as they walked down the aisle past him to take communion....

Name a personal accomplishment that you are proud of.

Realizing after many years of wasting my life living as a bleeding-heart, politically-correct lemming that liberals were in fact bigger liars and hypocrites than conservatives and that if I was going to err on a political side I’d rather it be the one that doesn’t loathe America’s triumphs and accomplishments at every turn.

Lost many so-called friends along the way as my beliefs began shifting ever rightward.

A close second accomplishment would be when I pulled up stakes (in Oakland) and moved to Los Angeles with no job, sleeping on a friend’s couch for over a year before changing careers altogether and moved into television production.

I remember being completely terrified on the morning I left Oakland...driving my moving van & car trailer...alone...down Interstate 5 trying my best not to pass out from panic attacks. But when I finally drove onto the 101 fwy and saw the Hollywood sign in the distance, something told me that everything was going to be alright.

Yeah okay...L.A. sucks the big wiener now and if I didn’t love my job so much I’d probably have moved on long ago.

Still, I’m glad for the experience and I have met some nice folks here : )
