Pick up my jaw and hand me my eyeballs
Rove strikes again?
So I fall outta bed, do the immensely complex dance necessary to make coffee in a foreign land and flip on the telly. NBC news station… Iraq report.... WHAAAAAAA?!?!?!?
Reporter talking about a Major giving a book-bag to an Iraqi school kid who was so proud and felt “so cool!” How the troops believe in their mission, see progress every day, aren’t even affected by the nattering nabobs of negativity in the CommieCongress and MSM!!!! Full Positive Report.
Hmmmm… Flipping around I see Woolsey [old CIA head] talking about how in favor of the Iraq war he was and still is. [dumb statement about how the current admin shouldn’t have pushed the WMD issue—as *I* saw it it was the MSM/DNC complex that did that ,,,but that’s not important now.
in re Libby: “We could create quite a cottage industry here in DC investigating anything and everything even when there is no underlying crime” [bwahahaha]
*Something* is in the works… Add in the strong statements of P and VP..... And that dumbass statement of al Zaquari about “oh yeah—we were targeting *Americans* at a Jordinian wedding… no, really… “
This is gonna be fun....
[oops—Iran just voted to block UN inspections. Saddam Redux?]

A woman holds a sign for Stanley ‘Tookie’ Williams in San Quentin, California November 19, 2005. Rapper Snoop Dogg, once a member of the Crips gang, called for authorities to spare Stanley ‘Tookie’ Williams, the gang’s co-founder, as hundreds gathered outside the prison to protest against his planned execution next month. Williams received the death penalty for killing four people in 1979.
Need I say more?
OK, if you insist!
A son of convicted murderer Stanley Tookie Williams, who is scheduled to be executed next month at San Quentin state prison, is being sought on suspicion of sexually molesting a 13-year-old girl in San Bernardino County, authorities said today.
Lafayette Jones, 36, a convicted sex offender, is wanted on a $600,000 warrant that a Superior Court judge issued Tuesday, Fontana police spokesman Sgt. Bill Megenney said.
“We believe he is either hiding in the area of Los Angeles or may possibly have left the state,” Megenney said.
Jones faces charges of lewd and lascivious acts with a child under the age of 14, assault with a deadly weapon, making terrorist threats and false imprisonment, Megenney said.
Law enforcement officials are considering additional charges of failing to register as a sex offender and being an ex-felon in possession of a firearm, he said.
Jones has an extensive record of felony convictions, some of which stem from an incident in Louisiana similar to the one for which he is being sought, Megenney said.
On Saturday, Jones phoned a 13-year-old Fontana girl whose family he knew and found out she was home alone, police said. He told her he would take her shopping for shoes and clothes at Ontario Mills Mall, police said.
When she got into his car, he put a gun to her head and forced her to perform sex acts on him while he was driving, authorities said.
Once at the mall, he allegedly forced her to drink alcohol and then took her to a movie, after which she was able to escape and contact police at a mall substation.
“He had her for about six hours before she was able to get away,” Megenney said. “She was so drunk and sick from the alcohol she couldn’t even remember what movie he took her to.”
The girl suffered unspecified injuries, he said.
Police later found Jones’ car still parked at the mall, allegedly with a .45-caliber semiautomatic pistol inside.
Megenney said Jones had been living with a family in Fontana and working in the Los Angeles area as a welder until his hosts found out that he was a convicted sex offender and kicked him out.
Jones’ family told police he is the son of Williams, 51, who co-founded the Crips gang as a teenager in South Central Los Angeles.
Williams was convicted of the execution-style murder of 7-Eleven clerk Albert Owens during a robbery in Whittier (Los Angeles County) in 1979, and of murdering the owners of a Los Angeles motel, Tsai-Shai Yang and Yen-I Yang, and their daughter, Ye Chen Lin, in a robbery two weeks later.
While in prison, he has worked to steer kids away from gang activity and violence. He is scheduled to be executed Dec. 13. His lawyers are continuing their appeals and have asked Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger to grant clemency.

The high-top sneakers cost $215 at a San Diego boutique, but the designer is giving them away to migrants before they cross to this side of the U.S.-Mexico border.
These are no ordinary shoes.
A compass and flashlight dangle from one shoelace. The pocket in the tongue is for money or pain relievers. A rough map of the border region is printed on a removable insole.
They are red, white and green, the colors of the Mexican flag. On the back ankle, a drawing of Mexico’s patron saint of migrants.
On this side of the border, the shoes sit in art collections or the closets of well-heeled sneaker connoisseurs. On the other side, in Tijuana, it’s a utilitarian affair: Immigrants to be are happy to have the sturdy, lightweight shoes for the hike - or dash - into the United States.
Their designer is Judi Werthein, an Argentine artist who moved to New York in 1997 - legally, she notes.
On recent evening in Tijuana, after giving away 50 pairs at a migrant shelter, Werthein waved the insole and pointed to Interstate 8, the main road between San Diego and Phoenix.
“This blue line is where you want to go,” Werthein, 38, said in Spanish.
“Good luck! You’re all very courageous,” she told the cheering crowd of about 50 men huddled in a recreation room after dinner.
“God bless you!” several cried back.
Werthein has concluded that shoes are a border crosser’s most important garment.
”The main problem that people have when they’re crossing is their feet,” Werthein. “If people are going to cross anyway, at least this will make it safer.”
Only 1,000 pairs of the “Brinco” sneakers (it means “Jump” in Spanish) have been made - in China, for $17 each. The shoes were introduced in August at inSite, an art exhibition in San Diego and Tijuana whose sponsors include nonprofit foundations and private collectors.
Benefactors put up $40,000 for the project; Werthein gets a $5,000 stipend, plus expenses.

Chavez says Venezuela has good reason to be concerned given the history of U.S. military actions in places from Iraq to Afghanistan*
“The people of the United States are governed by a murderer ... a crazy man!” Chavez said in a speech Thursday night.

When you take a hot shower in the winter, close the bathtub drain and let the warm water fill the tub as you shower. It takes a lot of energy to heat water and it is just wasted if you let it run down the drain while it is still warm. By saving the water in the tub, it will slowly transfer its heat to the room air and reduce the heating load on your furnace. It will also add humidity to the air, which most homes need in the winter. After about three hours, the water will have cooled and you can open the drain.
The only drawback to doing this is that it can leave some soapy deposits in the tub. If you use a detergent-based bar soap, not Ivory, the soap residue problem is minimal.
I dunno about this, but I’m just sooooo relieved that it didn’t say and save it for the next person’s bath like I was fearing.
Mom,
Be my voice. I want this message heard. It is mine and my platoon’s to the country…

For the most part, this world was created by longtime Dead lyricist Robert Hunter. .....
Songwriting, he writes, is “above all else and beyond all else, a language of direct emotion”; hence he did not allow his lyrics to be printed with Dead recordings initially, preferring listeners to mistake the words to their own liking.
“I never foresaw the day when someone would jimmy those words apart and do an encyclopedic search of their meanings,” he told Billboard in a rare interview. “Maybe it’s my age, but a lot of those (annotations) seemed obvious to me—but it occurs to me now that they might not be evident to succeeding generations.”Indeed, he pointed to a line in Dead classic “Truckin“‘: “She lost her sparkle, you know she isn’t the same/Living on reds, vitamin C and cocaine.”
”What suggested that was a (1950s) Pepsodent commercial,” Hunter said. “I thought a few people would pick up on it, but, of course, no one did.”
Yes, it all makes sense to me now.
...I wrote down random numbers to correspond with each line (such that) the first would have three syllables, the next five, then eight—or whatever. Then I took that format and wrote the words, and then wrote another verse to match. So I chose to obey a different numerical law than the usual type of rock song structure, and it came out as one of the strongest songs I’d ever written.”
Hold me.
My mother-in-law’s coming for Yule to New Year’s Eve. Again.
Last time she got her nose pierced.....time before that, a tattoo…
Why IS it that everyone who meets her automatically says..."HA, SondraK...I see where you get it”????
