Ok—who’s the 11 jokers who voted against the Katrina relief funding bill?
UPDATE: Just heard Scott Garret [?] Rep NJ on [against] this vote—and he made great sense. Terms like “accountability” and “is $63,000 / family too much?” Absolutely.
Hey—it’s Jersey. I can vote for this fella, right?

In a campaign flier, candidate Marilou Rickert said Sheldon “voted to close a facility for the developmentally challenged.” Sheldon’s complaint to the commission asserted that he was the only legislator who voted to keep it open.
Sheldon said the ruling would result in more political dirty tricks.
Staff at the Public Disclosure Commission said a possible appeal would be considered at its next meeting on Sept. 15.
ACLU spokesman Doug Honig, whose organization brought the lawsuit on Rickert’s behalf, said defamation laws could be used instead, and that broader laws to protect political candidates were not needed.
*oops, that doesn’t apply here. I’m just saying it cause it’s true.
MENSA and mischief! Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
a statement by Abu-Mus’ab al-Zarqawi’s al-Qa’ida Organization in the Land of the Two Rivers [Tanzim al-Qa’ida fi Bilad al-Rafidayn]: O God, strike the head of infidelity, America; O God, punish them at our hands and send Your punishment down on them; O God, send down on them floods and earthquakes; ...; O God, watch over the leaders of jihad and the mujahidin Abu-Abdallah Usama [Bin Ladin], Mulla Mohammed Omar, and Shaykh Ayman al-Zawahiri; O God, defeat any person who plots against them and make this person kill himself with his own hands.
Worth noting; Iraq has offered $1 million in aid for Katrina; $100,000 offered by Afghanistan.
Russia has offered 10,000 travel rations.

The tiny bullet actually starts to buzz every time your mobile phone is activated: about thirty seconds for a text message or the entire duration of a call.
Yes, let’s immediately call for Congressional hearings...that’ll learn ‘em.
Bring it on, Libtards. Shit, we’re just getting started!

HILLARY: “During my our my husband’s administration we had a good head of FEMA… During the floods in the midwest those people said they were glad that there was someone to help who could operate a back hoe!!! Can Michael Brown do that?!?” [/whiney screech]
[quote approx.]
Our country sure is blessed at this time to have access to the expertise of one of the most experienced construction executives in the world. Doncha think Hillary?

“I want to be the gay Dan Rather, except better-looking.”
You go girl!
Americans are opening their pocketbooks so fast and so wide in the wake of Hurricane Katrina that donations have already dwarfed the first week’s efforts to help victims of last year’s Asian tsunami and the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.
By Tuesday evening, U.S. charities had raised more than $500 million in cash and pledges — more than twice the $239 million donated in the 10 days after Sept. 11, and more than three times the $163 million raised in the nine days after the tsunami that hit countries along the Indian Ocean last Dec. 26.
And let’s not forget all of the foreign aid. I am eating a bit of crow for breakfast today.
I just heard that Cuba has about 1200 doctors, including about 60 specialists sitting there waiting. Like ready to go. These are doctors that deal with this sort of stuff all the time, Cuba doesn’t have money or military, so this is what their foreign policy offers. You think we should bite off our noses and refuse???
BTW, RACISTS are pretty generous.
Members of MoveOn.org Political Action are scheduled to hand-deliver thousands of petition signatures to the White House after the rally. The petition says, “ MoveON should stop blaming President Bush President Bush should stop blaming the victims of Hurricane Katrina and get to work helping them.”
Who: Katrina Evacuees and MoveOn members
What: Protest outside the White House to exploit in support of Hurricane Victims
And all of this is doing that how??????
Radical Christians have their own terrorism
Letter writer David Koch says if we surrender (to whom isn’t exactly clear), the terrorists will rule.
Terrorist rule is almost here, but it’s not from radical Islamists; it’s from radical Christians, whose toxic religious zealotry is destroying this country.
Let’s take a look, using Koch’s examples:
One religion: The radical Christians believe that their religion is the only true religion; they are eager to kill adherents to other faiths, e.g., Muslims.
Combination of religion and government: The radical Christians are hard at work to enshrine their religion as the official U.S. religion. Their outcry against “activist judges” hides their agenda to appoint Christian judges.
Members of Congress have created a Christian caucus to put Jesus first, above the law and above the Constitution.Keeping women in their proper place: John Roberts, Supreme Court inquisitor-in-waiting, says women should stay home and not have careers. This viewpoint is an article of faith among the radical Christians.
Killing women and children: The radical Christians, using the Bush maladministration as their puppet, have slaughtered more than 100,000 Iraqis, including many women and children.
Finally, the American Ayatollah himself, the radical Christian cleric Pat Robertson, recently called for the assassination of Hugo Chavez, the democratically elected president of Venezuela. All of this is terrorism, people. The progressive movement is one of the only bulwarks against it.
OK, so most of y’all here at KisP know the Mrs. and I are adopting our little boy from China. That’s the great news.
Here’s the bad news…
We did all of our photos and paperwork for passports a few weeks ago. Guess where the office is that processes the passports for our part of the country? New Orleans.

Granted this is just an inconvenience and pales in comparison to the suffering and death experienced by all too many people along the Gulf Coast. (Which of course is Bush’s fault.) It’s still a first class kick in the nuts and postpones our process and trip to China to get our little bundle of joy.
Building weapons is a waste of money.
All they’re good for is killing innocent people and wasting taxpayer’s money. Only the “bottom of the barrel” with no other options in life join the military.

SSG Jeremy Barton, 101st Airborne Division, and his team rescued an abandoned dog from certain drowning at the former Saddam Dam. They had been in the area for a reconnaissance operation.
